Meet Our Team

Cindy Peters grew up in a military family, which meant a childhood filled with frequent moves. Throughout these transitions, the steady presence of her animal companions which included horses, dogs, cats, fish, and guinea pigs provided a comforting constant. Summers spent on her grandparents' farm in Kansas introduced her to a broader menagerie, including cattle, chickens, and pigs. While raising her children on a cattle farm in Missouri with her late husband, Cindy worked in education, where she developed a deep appreciation for learning and building relationships. Now remarried, Cindy continues to cherish the presence of animals in her life. Her enduring bond with animals was a key factor in her decision to enter the veterinary field. After earning her MBA from Missouri State in 2017, Cindy initially worked in management at a big-box retailer. However, she soon realized she could merge her business expertise with her passion for animals. This led her to a role as a practice manager in veterinary medicine. Cindy is excited to be part of Dogwood Trails, where she has the added joy of working alongside her daughter, Dr. Audra O’Keefe.

Lane has over seven years of experience in veterinary medicine. He began his career in human medicine as a CNA but quickly realized that his true passion lies in working with animals. Having grown up in California and Texas, and spent time in Missouri where he worked with Dr. O’Keefe, Lane has now settled in NWA and become part of the DTAH family. After several years focused solely on veterinary medicine, he has recently transitioned to the administrative side, where he aims to achieve his goals. Lane loves outdoor activities, especially walking and hiking, and he enjoys a bit of shopping as well. He looks forward to meeting you and your pets!
